picture day

I couldn't actually get Carolina into any nice clothes that day but I brought a not so girly shirt to school and I'm told she did change into it. I've since bought her a few outfits that I thought she might approve of, so here are pictures of her "cool" dresses. Xavi wore his shirt for a while in the am and then decided to change so he wouldn't get it dirty. He happily changed into his picture outfit at school.

Halloween 2010

Sorry for another really long hiatus from blogger. We're facing difficult times. Terrible twos in full swing with a spirited and focused child...who knows how to take and delete picture from our camera! I had a great video of her "reading" polar bear, polar bear, what do you hear. I might have retaken that, I'll look for it. In the meantime here are a couple of pictures of halloween.

Xavi really loved celebrating halloween with MANY friends. Carolina wasn't too thrilled about the weather or the scary stuff on people's porches. I have some of her on my camera that I will post soon, maybe later tonight.

You can barely make out their little heads but they're both in there fast asleep...but it is only nap time. Bedtime is a whole other beast we haven't quiet figured out yet. Carolina is in full potty training mode and doing ok most of the time. Xavi is learning to read, very slowly and sometimes frustratingly. We try not to push so he remains interested. Carolina will start at Xavi's preschool this coming Monday!

halloween in July and hide and seek

life...

End of the school year is upon us...1 more week to go. Life is busy and hectic, but good. Trying to sell our house...not so good or fun. Carolina doesn't want her hair combed...really not fun.

Here are two pouty kids. Carolina was told she has to lose the pacifier. It's moving her teeth. There's still hope for her teeth, but it's been a battle taking that thing away from her. Doing better these days without it. Starting potty training. Going ok.

Summer is here! Ok was for a week, then disappeared. Back again briefly...hoping for more consistent weather soon. Cut Caro's hair to mark the occasion. Thought with warmer weather she might let me comb it into ponytails...wrong!

Xavi broke his arm at school. Had to happen sometime. Here he with his cast and Hyde Park Henry (the stuffed bear). He's taking it around the neighborhood and taking pics with it for school. Cast is red, Henry is brown. Carolina starts at school August 30th!

Some much needed R&R starts mid-June!

this weekend

This weekend Xavi and his dad went to the Field to see the Mammoths. He started putting things in his nose to pretend he was one too...Apparently he liked them...but not so much that he wanted to go back. He later requested a trip to the museum - but the one with real elephants he said. So we went on his day off - school was closed for parent/teacher conference.

School

Carolina would like nothing more than to go to Xavi's preschool! She can start soon, we're just waiting for the call! Here she is in one of the 2-3 year old classrooms, refusing to leave. In the mornings she says "I go there" and points to the school! Please call soon!

Xavi hard at work. His drawings and writing are getting pretty good. I should post a picture he likes to draw often, of him and his sister. The pic of his sister is a riot!

Easter, Nashville and phone posts?

I know it's been a while...we've been busy. There was a Xavi/Sarai reunion recently, in Nashville. Some Easter pictures and maybe, if I can figure out how to post pics from my cell phone, I'll also post pictures of Xavi's first swim class!

Carolina turns 2!

The morning of her birthday Carolina opened presents from her oma and grandpa and her tia Lala. Some books, a puzzle, a cute spring outfit among other things. We gave her this stroller which she LOVED!

She even wanted to sit with it...

Brought it to the party and it was a hit

The party included some bouncing, drawing, cupcakes, stroller crashing (what's a party without stroller crashing?) and overall fun.
