Girlfriends
And I don't mean girls that are friends. I've been embarrassed to post this link, but Xavier's new found pastime is nothing to be ashamed of, I've decided. He likes to kiss people. Ok, specifically little girls. Sorry, Pippi, there are others. Since these pictures went online he has also met and kissed 3 year old Joclyn and 2 ½ year old Isa. He thinks they (the girlfriends) are fantastic! He stares at them, smiles, bats his eyelashes. He’d wink if he knew how. We all know who he takes after in this behavior. Pretty soon he’ll be looking up little girls’ dresses. Ok....click on this link. Pippi's parents have forgiven us, but I'm not sure if they will ever allow them to see each other again...and it's not just because they are moving to CT.

Sigh...Teething
We can almost hear the teeth coming in...the bebe is restless and very fussy...so what we are actually hearing is him tossing and turning and, occasionally, crying in his sleep. He finally has one tooth, botton front, and another is coming in. Poor guy...he hasn't been sleeping well, this whole week and how much longer?
He has also, finally, learned to clap (properly...for those that know his weird hand-slap clap)
He is also shaking his head to say no and sometimes also shakes his index finger at the same time, kinda like his abuela does to him when he is being bad.
He has mastered standing up unassisted...because he falls so often. We have been watching and think it's because he tries to run...on his tip toes. When he takes his time he sorta looks like his dad when he walks. M, is this the way D walked when he first learned?

Surprise Visitor
This is the look he gave his oma whenever we said no to him...Kinda like saying you'll let me do that, won't you? Here is a picture during one outing to Millennium Park. Oma took the picture with all the aunts and uncles.
This is on the way to see the bean.
In front of the bean and Xavier is loving the shiny, huge mirror and all the people!

Thanks again for the visit!
New developments for the x-man...
will give you something when you ask for it...a kiss, food (he thinks it's funny to feed other people), a toy (unless he really wants to keep it, then he will move it away from you)
points when he wants something, usually food or out (points to the door)
waves back when you wave first
tries to stack blocks (not just knock them over)
sounds like he is actually saying baby and often mimics the sounds of words or sentences he hears...doesn't sound like actual words but some of the consonants are the same and the intonations are also
helps to put on or take off his clothes
the walking is getting a lot better also. this weekend he has walked longer distances and even changed direction (mid stride) to chase after a cat. sometimes he tries to run, this doesn't go so well
the last week he has slept through the night twice, however, those nights he has woken up at 5:30am - oh well
still eating anything and everything in sight...breakfast is not a favorite meal...cheerios are a favorite breakfast food, but not much else
but, at 10 months old, still no teeth...

A Happy 4th of July
Today we shopped a little with madrina and discovered revolving displays. We also went to the abuelos house to have a 4th bbq. The best part was having so many aunts and uncles to pay attention to Xavier. He had a great time performing for everyone and the camera. AND I finally got a video of some of his walking!
