We began the celebration over the weekend with dinner out with both the Anello and Lopez clan. It was festive and there was lots of food. Plus Caro got to wear a cute dress for the occasion.
On Wednesday night we had a quiet dinner, except for her screaming when she didn't get enough food or water, and cupcakes followed. She smashed one into her mouth and decided she wasn't interested. She had the same cupcakes at daycare to celebrate so maybe she was just over them. She's been a little sick and up a lot at night. Her father thinks she may finally be getting some teeth. At the rate she's up, she better get a mouth full of them soon! Xavi is back to wearing underwear at school and at home, pull ups at night and nap time only. He is less likely to have accidents then though. He is still having accidents, when he is too busy playing to pull himself away usually, but might have actually turned a corner. He is more willing to go on his own (when we tell him to) and to poop in the potty! He has been very receptive at home, but his teachers are still not seeing the same kinds of results...Bless their hearts, they are sooo willing to work with us on this. I'm sure things can only get better from here. I'm also more convinced that he was reacting to getting a little sister, because he has decided that the best part of using the potty is that his sister is too little to do it and she doesn't know how!
