In these pictures Xavi is 9 weeks old and Caro is 10 weeks. We have these two pictures framed side by side in our living room. The little cream puff will be 11 weeks this coming Monday. I have just a couple more weeks with her before I'm back at work, but she will be hanging out with tia Lala for the 5 short weeks I'm back at work.

On the speaking front, Xavi usually just tells us what he wants and doesn't want, but recently he likes to disagree with us or tries to be funny. He even tried to tell us a knock knock joke, but only knew the first line. It went like this:

"Knock, knock" - Xavi
(parents exchange a shocked look and answer) " Who's there?"
"Who's there" - Xavi
"Boo" - Parents
"Boo" - Xavi
"Boo who?" - parents
"Boo who?" - Xavi
"Knock, Knock" - Xavi
You get the picture...now he says "no crying" after boo who.
Here are other examples of conversations with Xavi.

"Daniel, do you want brown or green pears? I prefer green, the brown ones are gross" - Norma
"They're not gross, they're weird!" - Xavi

OR
"Wow, that's a lizard stamp on your hand - cool" - Norma
"That's not a lizard, that's an iguana!" - Xavi
OR
"Xavi!" - Norma
"What?" - Xavi
"Clean up" - Norma
"What" - Xavi
"Clean up" - Norma
"What" - Xavi
OR
"Baby's sleeping?" - Xavi
"Yes, please, be quiet and don't touch her" - Norma
"Don't touch" - Xavi
Then he pokes her face and laughs when she wakes up. Got a time out for not listening.

SPRING! Finally...

Didn't update last week when lolis (long o) had her 2 month check up. She weighed 12lbs 3oz and measured 23 inches -both, surprisingly, in the 75%ile. She's smiling and cooing and likes to stare at her brother. Her brother is talking a lot and we're still amazed by it. He gives time outs to everyone, including the baby when she cries too much, but just for one minute. Sometimes even Buzz Lightyear gets one. He talks about clouds, the moon and rainbows. He loves fire trucks and looks for them when we drive. School buses and garbage trucks are equally interesting. He is usually pretending to be a monster or a tiger. Can't tell which he was in these pictures. Oh, and he constantly accuses everyone of hitting or hurting him - most kids in his class, us, the baby, his tia lala, his oma (who doesn't even live in the same state!). He mightalso tell you not to hit him anymore or anytime when he first sees/meets you. He remembers that he plays soccer on Saturday morning and as we leave he says he wants to kick the ball. AND spring is here so he also asks to go to the park all the time. Gotta work on mastering the two kid thing at the playground. How do some moms make it look so easy?

brotherly love

xavi loves his little sister. loves to tell her she's cute at the top of lungs, less than a foot away from her face. loves to grab her feet and say tickle tickle in his best cookie monster voice. loves to give her a timeout for crying loudly in the car. loves to hug and kiss her when all she wants to do is nurse. and occasionally loves to lie quietly next her. what a great big brother he is becoming. plus potty training is on the upswing (again). he's used the potty at home few times, once at pal sarai's house and a twice at school yesterday!

carolina is 7 weeks and making as much progess on bottle training as her brother is on potty training. Ah, the joys of parenting.

mary wore a red dress

Many have asked about the song on the video and I really didn't know it...until now. I asked at school one day and they were stumped also. When I got in the car that day it was playing on his Music Together CD. It's on the Sticks CD. They've just moved on to Maracas - let's see what he likes on that one...

Please forgive the pirate quality.
