More Halloween Fun

Here's how the night began. Lots of screaming and crying. More screaming.

At this point I realized I never put the battery back in the camera! I was trying to be super organized and not forget anything for this night.
Once we got out into the streets it got better. Though he didn't really understand what was going on at first. Once Xavi realized people were dropping candy in his bucket he was VERY happy!

Things only got better from there. Notice how absorbed the kids are in their candy!

Halloween

Xavi has been sick all week so the beginning of the night didn't start off so well - lots of protests and crying. He finally agreed to stay in the monkey costume because Sarai was wearing hers. They were both monkeys and thank god for that! I really doubt he would have stayed in it if he hadn't seen her in one also. He loved being a monkey so much that he had to wear it again this morning. He chased his tail a bit, finally caught it and pulled himself by his tail. What a tumultuous relationship these two have!

Here's a short video. It's a little blairwitch because it was dark and I didn't realize I kept recording, but it gives you a sense of how much these two loved halloween. By the way they dind't say trick or treat. They yelled HALLOWEEN when they wanted candy. Then they sang it as they walked down the street. In this video you can hear them both a bit, but I may be too loud because the camera was around my neck!

It's a GIRL!

The top one is her profile in the type of ultrasound picture I'm used to seeing. The one below is 3D...the right hand side of the picture is her face with her fist by her cheek. This was taken while she was burying her face in the placenta like it was a pillow (we saw that in 3D!) - she seemed to be trying to get comfortable and go to sleep. Sure enough after this she turned her back to the technician and couldn't be woken up to turn back around. The technician was trying to get pictures of her heart from the top down - so there would be no shadow from the ribcage or spine. Oh well, they had to go with what they had.

Sonoma County

We traveled to Sonoma County with Ilja and Xavi made a new friend. He called him Yiya and cried for his help when his parents wouldn't give in to his demands "Yiya, Help ME!". And watched a movie w/ him.

He dressed up for Julia's wedding only to crawl around the floor with a three year old he met there.

There were times we had to hold him still - like during the ceremony. So when he loudly asked for chocolate, we gave in (we're always trying to avoid being "those parents" in public) and he said thank you and when there was no response yelled WELCOME! Don't think the bride noticed. At least I hope she didn't.

We walked through Armstrong Redwood Forest and thought it would be safe because there was a fence to keep visitors on the path.
He must take after his pampa because the fence couldn't keep him on the path.

So he had to go back in the stroller.

It was great to see so many friends last weekend! We're looking forward to a trip from the Anello g-parents later this month and another ultrasound next week - we'll find out the gender of the baby so stay tuned!
