The three of us are enjoying the long weekend before it's back to daycare and work on Tuesday. One last walk through M Park for Xavi and mami on Friday. Last day on our own. Papi began work two weeks ago so Xavi and I have bonded over made up songs about bubble baths and the alphabet and real songs from the movie Happy Feet - most notably: "Jump and Move".

Early Dr.s Appointment
Xavi had his 24 month appt. today. All went well and there were no shots!
Weight: 27 3/4 lbs
Height: 34 inches and change (but I can't remember)
He was weighed like a big boy on the regular scale. I'm not sure what's up with the percentiles because at this age there are two you can use, the birth to 36 months or 2-20 years. According to the 2-20 he's still in the 50th% for weight and between the 50th and 75th for height. We're not due back until his next birthday.
Still busy planning the birthday party for next weekend!

Top 8 Favorite Xavi Words
Ok, it's a little outdated already. These videos were taken over the course of the summer and I'm just getting around to posting. Stop complaining - here's a new post! I have been just a little bit busy...The video says it all, but Xavi has moved on to new favorites...like "C'mon" and "Let's go" and "I got you" among many others. "Pee pee en el ban~o" (pee pee in the bathroom) is one of them, unfortunately this situation has taken one step f\orward and two back. After telling us a few times and then actually holding it and peeing in the potty, he has decided to keep his pee and poop in his diaper. Now our conversations go something like this: "Xavi, tienes caca?" and he says "No caca". Eventually he lets me change his diaper, I'd heard about boys being like this but didn't believe it until now. He has it all down, now we've realized that it's a matter of time (could be another year, but oh well) until he decides that he will use the potty.
Other updates: All cuspids are in and now we're waiting on the last molars (to come in) aka first permanent molars. Though I thought they would take a while, he's been telling us recently that he has an owie in his teeth. They're supposed to be in at 24 months and he's fast approaching that milestone! Two more weeks! We're preparing for the big day.
Sleeping in the bed is going well - minus molar pain wakings and wonderings - so we're taking the crib out soon.
And the return to daycare is next Tuesday, one more week with mami. He can't wait to get back to his friends.

More Travel, Tired and Jetlagged
Here is a quick run through of what we've been up to for the last couple of weeks. After we returned from NY we bid our dear friend Isa goodbye...very sad for us. She was also going to the same day care, so there was a pool party there (plus we took a trip to M Park and the beach on other days - no pics of that - to see more of her). It was also Skyler's last day and after the pool party we went to her 3rd b-day party.

Xavi's new favorite animal? Dolphins

Before leaving that day, however, Xavi gave his mom the scare of the year. He woke up from his nap and went to his parent's room (where the cats were) and closed the door and locked it. I thought I was going to have to tear the door down. I alternated between scolding and begging him to open the door. I finally got it open. The zoo was a nice way to celebrate.
Then we were off to the land of angels. It was a pretty good flight out...though we forgot the favorite movie - Nemo. Oops. We spent time with friends Julian and Quinten (Q was a 3 lb yorkshire terrier puppy!) and with cousins Sammy and Olivia.

It was hard to get pics of Xavi and the dog, though I really wanted one. He kept trying to hug and carry the poor dog so we spent a lot of time chasing Xavi around trying to get him away from the dog. The flight back was fine as well, but getting Xavi back in this time zone proved more difficult than we anticipated. Mostly because he fell into west coast time very easily and quickly.
Oh and before leaving Xavi met a new favorite person...and when I say favorite, I mean favorite! Actually preferring Jenise carry him over me! I have the picture to prove the love and flirtation. Thankfully she's moving here at the end of the month.
